World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded to benefit from their unique stats (like a perfectly broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats such as damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally there are many weapons with an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon is present on a single unit. In some instances, this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon upgrades on its own.
A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will increase until it requires more Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is usually a positive aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. For items that only see use in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example) upgrading them could make them unusable unless you have an extremely lucky roll.
Upgrades can be made to armor items to increase their effectiveness. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms it will boost the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it may change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain when upgrading, along with the relative values of those stats. upgrade item means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% does not mean that it will be hit 3 times less often as it is an absolute statistic.
A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button that has circular arrows within the item menu. This will reroll an item and change its statistics, but it will not reset the weapon's levels, or tie it to the account status.
Armor
Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets provide massive boosts to poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the more defense you have for your character, the greater health you'll receive from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.
To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four fountains in all, and each requires you to complete a specific side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. In general, you'll need at anything from three to five Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which allows you to keep up in frigid conditions with a large group of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense so that you can survive a raid with your friends.
item upgrade to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to focus on upgrading it for physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power in the case of Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you use to fight the final boss and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
You can also gain advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is useful to have some upgrades to your chest armor and helmets that permit you to sneak past some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, provide the player with a temporary effect. There are five kinds of potions that have different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. Alternatively the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust them.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by making them on a table or in the Alchemist's chest. However, the upgrade price is dependent on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level as well as its rarity.
To upgrade a potion simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be used in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will deplete the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Similarly, a lingering potions' effect is extended by adding redstone to it. Trinkets

Once the old Trinkets are no longer useful, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players which makes them an extremely popular alternative to gold.
Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are first upgraded, followed by their secondary gear, and then other equipment that they won't be replacing anytime soon (such as a ring or an cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when deciding which items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player, then they should upgrade their chest, helm, and shoulders.
Once they have become useless, trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade is likely to cause the trinket to be destroyed, unless it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
